Summary:
At just 13 years old, Hazel was diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer. Her cancer looked as if it was going to take her life, until a miracle in the medical field shrunk her tumors.
Two years after the miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. Hazel has been given her life, cancer free, but she constantly has an oxygen tank that ties her down.
One day the mysterious Augustus Waters arrives at her support group. Augustus is everything Hazel could look for an a guy. He is nice, gorgeous, in remission from cancer, and he actually has an interest in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.
